Fabric Options
Outdoor shades typically use high-performance sunscreen material designed to filter sun, heat and wind while preserving the view outside. Sunscreen material is classified by it’s openness factor:
- 1% – Maximum privacy and heat reduction – little to no view through
- 3-5% – Balanced light filtering and visibility – clouded/hazy view through
- 10% – Brighter, more open feel – excellent view through
These materials are available in a range of colors and textures. We’ll help you select the right fabric based on your sun exposure, privacy needs, and design preferences.
Control Options
Choose the control method that fits your space and lifestyle. Due to the rugged nature of exterior shades, they are only available in two high-quality operation methods:
Manual Crank – Simply open or close your shade by winding the detachable crank handle.
Motorized – Effortlessly control the shade via a remote or smartphone app. With a home hub, your shades can also be paired with smarthome devices such as Alexa, Siri or Google.
